PLATH Group – Image Film with CGI, Tracking and Motion Graphics
Client work for PanFilm, 2023 – set supervision, tracking, CGI in Cinema 4D, rendered with Octane Render, compositing in After Effects.
About the project
This image film for the PLATH Group was made on behalf of production company PanFilm. The PLATH Group is a Hamburg-based, family-run group of companies specializing in data-driven early crisis detection, with locations around the world.
My role on this project was unusually broad: from on-set support and set supervision – preparing for later motion tracking and match moving of camera and objects – all the way through to the full VFX post-production.
Technique
In post-production I handled 2D and 3D motion tracking, set up the virtual cameras in Cinema 4D, and designed and integrated the CGI elements, rendered with Octane Render. This includes a motion graphics sequence showing the PLATH Group's worldwide locations on an animated world map.
I also created video content used for screen replacements composited onto screens in the original footage, and handled the final compositing in After Effects – bringing live action, CGI and motion graphics together into one cohesive image.
