Whiskey Spec Ad – Splash from Armenia
Personal project, 2025 – simulated in Houdini, assembled and rendered in Cinema 4D/Octane.
About the project
This personal project from 2025 is a spec ad for a whiskey from Armenia – created without a brief, to show skills in fluid simulation. The shot features a glass of ice with whiskey splashing out, the bottle visible in the background.
The focus was on a warm, moody look typical of spirits advertising – centered on the interplay of liquid, ice and light inside the glass.
Technique
The fluid simulation – the splash and motion of the whiskey in the glass – was built in Houdini. The simulation was then brought into Cinema 4D, where the bottle, glass, ice cubes and lighting were set up.
The finished scene was rendered with Octane Render, carrying the warm reflections in glass and liquid as well as the shallow depth of field in the background.
