FEROH Dry Construction System – A House from Building Blocks

Client work for Plan B, 2021 – advertiser: FEROH Trockenbau. Created in Cinema 4D, rendered with Octane Render.

About the project

This client project from 2021 was commissioned by Plan B, an agency for 3D and motion picture production in Kiel. The advertiser was FEROH Trockenbau. The company has developed a building system that works much like Lego bricks: at its core, the entire shell of a house needs only three building elements – exterior wall, interior wall and installation element.

The film's task was to explain this principle clearly. Step by step, the animation shows how the sill plates are first laid on the floor slab, then the lightweight sandwich elements of wood and gypsum fibre are slotted together and boarded, until walls with window openings and finally an entire room take shape.

Technique

The entire film was created in Cinema 4D. The individual building elements were modelled and animated so that the assembly unfolds in a logical, easy-to-follow way – each element moves into place just as it would be installed on a real building site.

Rendering was done with Octane Render. A building-site setting with trees and a delivery van in the background grounds the system in reality, while the materials – wood texture and white boarding – were rendered as realistically as possible so that prospective customers immediately recognise the product.
