About the project
"Tension" is a personal project from 2024. The goal was to create a dystopian fantasy scene: a world that feels dark, mysterious and threatening, yet sparks curiosity.
At its core, the film is a particle animation wrapped in a short, atmospheric clip. The scene doesn't tell a specific story but relies entirely on mood – deliberately leaving room for the viewer's own questions. It is this unresolved quality that is meant to create the tension that gives the film its name.
Technique
The scene was built in Cinema 4D, with the particle animation created in X-Particles. The focus was on shaping the motion of the particles so that it carries the mystical, tense mood of the scene.
Rendering was done with Octane Render. Atmospheric haze, a dramatic cloudy sky and an almost monochrome image with warm light accents give the clip its dystopian look.
